Jack’s Customers Donate Over $45,000 to Red Cross Hurricane Relief in Just 19 Days

BIRMINGHAM, AL | Oct 27, 2017

Customers of Jack’s Family Restaurants, LP donated $46,847 in American Red Cross hurricane relief fund donations in just 19 days. To donate, customers visited one of the 145 locations and added a donation to their food order or requested to donate only.

2017 ranks among the top ten most active hurricane years in history with major storms including Harvey, Irma, Jose, Maria and most recently Nate. The donations will be allocated toward a general hurricane fund to provide assistance to those most in need.

“Though we aren’t surprised, we’re truly grateful for how quickly our customers came to the aid of our neighbors in the region,” said Todd Bartmess, Jack’s Family Restaurant CEO. “This fundraising wouldn’t be this successful without the philanthropic spirit of our teams in the restaurants encouraging customers to donate.”

Donations are used to prepare for, respond to, and help people recover from this disaster. This includes providing food, shelter, relief supplies, emotional support, recovery planning and other assistance as well as supporting the vehicles, warehouses, technology and people that make that help possible.

“We are truly thankful for the donation provided by Jack’s,” Alicia Anger, Communications Director, Alabama said. “We estimate disaster relief and recovery efforts in response to these hurricanes could cost hundreds of millions of dollars or more, and will last many months and even years. Support such as this, will assist in helping those efforts.”
