Pack the Backpack with Jack's

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Jack’s announces its support of Kids to Love’s Pack the Backpacks, WHNT News 19’s annual school supply drive to benefit local children in foster care.

Through the campaign, WHNT News 19, Huntsville’s local CBS affiliate, provides donated backpacks and school supplies to more than 4,000 foster children across north Alabama and southern Tennessee whom  otherwise would not have a resource.

“This is one of our favorite campaigns to participate in because every child deserves the chance to start off the school year on the right foot,” said Jack’s Director of Marketing Pam Measel. “Every little bit helps. Something as small as a new pack of pencils can make a child that much more eager to learn. We are looking forward to helping in any way we can and are thankful for the support of our customers, without whom this wouldn’t be possible.”

Patrons may support the campaign in many ways, including through monetary donations. Just $25 covers the cost of a new backpack with school supplies. Visit kidstolove.org to donate through PayPal.

Volunteers wishing to help pack the backpacks may send an email to kidsvolunteer@yahoo.com.

Volunteers may also set up a Kids to Love Collection Box and collect supplies. Click here to download the “Donate Here” poster, which lists needed items. Collection box items may be dropped off at Jack’s, 145 Hughes Road, Madison, on August 2. WHNT News 19 will be on location for a last push for donations. They will be broadcasting live from 5 am to 7 pm.
