Jack's Supports Boo at the Zoo

Published Sept. 26, 2013

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Join Jack’s for 15 nights of trick-or-treating, rides and games at the Birmingham Zoo’s annual “spook-tacular” event, Boo at the Zoo.

Every weekend in October and on Halloween night, families are encouraged to visit the Zoo dressed in family-friendly costumes to explore haunted attractions. This year, families can see their favorite ©Marvel characters like Spider-Man, Iron Man, Thor and Captain America. The heroes will participate in special meet and greets, sign autographs, and have their photos made on the following dates: Captain America on Oct. 4-5, Thor on Oct. 11-12, Iron Man on Oct. 18-19, and Spider Man on Oct. 25-26.

Other attractions include: searching for Bigfoot on the Sasquatch Safari, jumping on the Eerie Express train, taking a spin on the Scarousel, participating in animal-themed games at the Creepy Carnival tent, trick-or-treating through candy villages and more.

“Every year, we get excited for Boo at the Zoo,” said Jack’s Director of Marketing Pam Measel. “The Zoo is one of Birmingham’s family-friendly gems, and we couldn’t be happier about partnering with them for such an exciting event.”

As part of the partnership, Jack’s will be giving away family four packs for the event, as well as Zoo memberships through the company’s Facebook page, facebook.com/eatatjacks.

The Birmingham Zoo Vice President of Marketing and Media Katrina Cade sincerely thanked Jack’s for their support of not only Boo at the Zoo, but the Zoo overall.

“The Birmingham Zoo is extremely grateful for the support that we have received from Jack’s. Because of their sponsorship over the last three years, we are able to serve the community in a family-friendly way that brings people together to create memories that will last a lifetime. We are now going into our fourth year, and our joint mission to serve families has been beneficial beyond measures,” Cade said.

Boo at the Zoo dates and hours include: 5-9 p.m. on Oct. 4-6, 11-13, 20, 23-24, 27 and 31, and 5-10 p.m. on Oct. 18, 19, 25 and 26. The Zoo animal exhibits will close at 4 p.m. each day of Boo at the Zoo. Still, some animals will be present each night inside the Children's Zoo Barn.

Boo at the Zoo admission is $8 for non-members and $6 for members. Some attractions, however, require ride tickets, which are available on-site. An unlimited attraction wristband is available for $12 and includes unlimited access to: Eerie Express Train, Sasquatch Safari, Scarousel, Creepy Carnival, Gruesome Golf, Ghost Rollers and Cajun Sadie’s Fortune Telling Adventure.
