Jack's and Kids to Love Make Christmas Wishes Come TruePublished Dec. 4, 2012
KIDS TO LOVE BLITZ DRIVE PROVIDES PRESENTS FOR NORTH ALABAMA FOSTER KIDS
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – WHNT-CBS camera crews will be present for the Kids to Love Live Drive Tues., Dec. 4 from 5 a.m. – 7 p.m. at the Florence, Hughes Road and Scottsboro Jack’s restaurants. Each year, Kids to Love provides Christmas presents to foster children who otherwise might not have gifts to unwrap.
“We are humbled to participate in such an amazing program again this year,” said Jack’s Director of Marketing Pam Measel. “This is a time of year when children are filled with hope at the thought of presents under the tree. We want to do everything we can to make that happen.”
To reach this goal, Kids To Love and Jack’s invite patrons to participate in a multiple ways between Nov. 19 and Dec. 8. Customers wanting to help may take wish lists that hang on the Christmas trees in Jack’s restaurants. After fulfilling the wish list, donors may drop their gifts at Jack’s, and Jack’s will then deliver them to the Kids to Love warehouse.
In addition, donors may sponsor a wish by emailing Kids to Love and requesting a list with a child’s wishes on it, including toys and clothing. In addition, individuals with tight budgets may donate items instead of sponsoring an entire wish list. Popular items that are often seen on children’s wish lists include: footballs, makeup sets, Alabama/Auburn gear and more.
While the organization’s goal is to find a sponsor for every child, the reality is that Kids to Love will shop for many lists that are not sponsored. Money donations can be made online or by mailing a check to PO Box 4871, Huntsville, AL 35814.
“The people at Kids to Love will continue to accept wishes from kids every day, so every little bit helps,” said Jack’s Senior Media Planner Christy Gravitt. “From now until Christmas, we will work with Kids to Love to do everything we can to make sure every child has their wish fulfilled, and we encourage the Huntsville community to do the same.”
Time donations are valuable, too. Kids to Love operates two volunteer-based gift-wrapping locations during the holiday season. For volunteer locations, a full list of popular gift items and drop-off locations, visit kidstolove.org.
